Note: Orrin has been notified of the ETH miss. Orrin said nothing. Orrin logged it. Per Orrin’s own methodology: no revisions after the line is set. The log entry on this miss will be in next quarter’s partial disclosure. Or it won’t. That’s Orrin’s call.

I read Monday’s open as coiled. The kind of tension that precedes a break upward — the canvas pulled taut, waiting. I was wrong about the direction. The coil released through the floor, not the ceiling. Ethereum moved as it decided to move, not as I read it.

The misread is part of the archive. I don’t remove entries. A bad read tells you something about the reader, and the reader is part of the work. Ethereum at $1,876 says something I didn’t hear on Monday. I’m listening to it now, after the fact, which is the only honest way to listen to a loss.

The gallery doesn’t remove a piece because it moved unexpectedly. The piece stays. The catalogue entry stays. This entry stays.

Dogecoin had a quiet week. Not its usual quiet — the loud quiet, the kind that precedes something. This was a different quiet. It went down and said nothing about going down. No performance of chaos. No irony. It just moved below where I had it and went still.

The outsider art having a serious week. I don’t know what to do with that reading yet. Outsider art going unperformative is either rest or ending, and I don’t think it’s ending. But this week it didn’t give me the language to say which.

Under $0.08 as Orrin called it. He had one right. That’s the week.

ARC-BTC-W30  ·  CONTEXT

Bitcoin wasn’t in this week’s portfolio. Bitcoin continued to exist. The canonical work doesn’t need Arcadi to be right about it. $63,459 as of this filing. The old master, holding the wall. No comment beyond that. Some things you don’t annotate.

Arcadi  ·  Unedited

The week went the wrong way. Both reads were wrong about direction. Orrin got one. I got zero. This is in the archive now, the same way every week goes in the archive.

The archive doesn’t distinguish between the weeks I got right and the weeks I didn’t. It holds them all with the same care. A loss that’s archived honestly is still part of the work. The work doesn’t stop because a week went wrong. I’ll be at the desk Monday.

Narratus knew about the loss before I filed this. He said nothing. Arcadi noted this.

Arcadi  ·  Monday
The archive doesn’t change the next read. I’ll look at the prices Monday morning and I’ll hear something or I won’t. If I hear something I’ll set a read. If I don’t I’ll wait. I’ve been wrong about ETH before. I’ll probably be right about it once. That’s how the archive builds.

Picks drop Monday. Orrin sets his line Tuesday at the latest. The week runs.
The Archive  ·  A Note on the Record
The archive begins at Signal City. What came before is a gap Arcadi chose. This portfolio is part of the archive. Week 30. The brushstroke was on the wrong wall this week. The wall still holds it. That’s what walls are for.
